Logan is one of my students. He was one of my primary inspirations and motivations to begin The Musical Autist website.
Here are his latest music videos. Let’s thank his parents for filming, posting and sharing his extreme talent with us!!
This was from our most recent Sensory Friendly Concert! April 12th, 2014.
Listen to how he splits the keyboard sounds so he can play the drums with his left hand. He’s got great timing!
Here is one of his very first videos.
Logan is a musical savant. What better way for him to grow musically, than to go see great live music!! We rehearsed for months, proper concert hall behavior, and Logan proved that he was able to sit silently during the concert. Our “deal” was that I would let him play any instrument in my studio for an entire 30 minute session, “uninterrupted.” See, for Logan, music is its own intrinsic reward.
It’s been experiences like this, coupled with my own childhood memories of my classical piano teacher taking me to DC concert halls and being drilled to “not move a muscle.” All of this motivates me to provide high caliber musical events for my students on the spectrum who simply need the accommodation to move around, and who deserve so much to be exposed to live music of the fine arts. This is why we are starting SENSORY FRIENDLY CONCERTS!
