Make sure you can stay through Sunday morning before heading to the airport!
CJ recently got her letter from American Music Therapy Association stating that her proposal was accepted for this year’s #AMTA13 national conference.
However! Her presentation will be Sunday, November 24th from 10:30 to 11:30am. So don’t book your flights out of Jacksonville too early. : )
Her presentation is in entitled “Sensory Friendly Concerts: An Opportunity to Celebrate Neurodiversity through Community Music Therapy.”
Apologies to the large percentage of our readers from the Neurodiversity Movement and the autism community at large, this post is most likely irrelevant to you! But you *do* have a reason to like and share this post, because it shows that we have a beautifully growing number of readers who are Board Certified Music Therapists.
That means there are more and more professionals who serve people on the spectrum – potential autistic self advocates – who are interested in learning about Neurodiversity through this blog, and attending our sessions at professional conferences.
We currently have a list 60 MT-BC’s who have contacted us through this website, out of interest in Sensory Friendly Concerts and wanting to learn how to facilitate one in their own community.
Exciting times for the Neurodiversity Movement and the potential for Community Music Therapy!
